The Berks Conservancy is focusing its efforts on a new geographic area of Berks County - a place we call the Western Highlands - right where you live. We are working hard to protect land and water in your part of Berks County.
The Western Highlands of Berks is a region along the southwestern border of the county adjacent to Lancaster County, and a small portion of Lebanon County. This forested region is particularly important as it serves as the pristine headwaters for two major water resources: The Schuylkill River/Delaware Bay and the Chesapeake Bay.
Our goal is to help keep your community, the Western Highlands of Berks, a special place for future generations. This may involve land protection, stream improvements, habitat creation, and educational events for all ages!
