The 3rd & Spruce Garden is located immediately adjacent to the City of Reading’s Recreation Center on 3rd Street. This site was developed in partnership with Penn State Cooperative Extension’s 4H program, and is primarily used for educational purposes. Students from the Reading School District occupy the garden plots in the spring, and we welcome the involvement of local organizations and children throughout the summer months.
Students are responsible for planting the seeds, weeding and maintaining the site, and harvesting all of the produce.
