The Berks County Conservancy is the sole organization currently responsible for ensuring that Neversink Mountain remains as open space for the benefit of the city residents and general public that visit the 900-acre mountain.
We have invested much of our time and resources over the past 10 years acquiring land on the (then privately-owned) mountain. As a result we own nearly 500-acres of Neversink that connects from one end of the mountain to the other. We’ve recently recognized that is as equally important to advertise the availability of this natural treasure, as it has been to acquire it. A majority of county residents are not familiar with the mountain, and even a greater number do not realize it can be accessed by the public. Our efforts are focused on acquisitions, trail development, maintenance, and most importantly, promoting the mountain. We offer regular hikes of the Neversink Mountain Preserve. Call our office for more information 610-372-4992, and please utilize our trail map should you decide to enjoy the mountain on your own.
