Meet Our Staff



Neil Brantley - Community Garden Coordinator
Neil joined the Conservancy staff in February 2008. Neil is deeply committed to our urban greening mission and is primarily responsible for managing our ten community gardens in the city. John L. Hackman - Conservation Specialist / GIS Coordinator
John joined our staff in March 2000. In addition to his duties in land protection, John also coordinates our growing capabilities with computers and geographic information systems. John has a Geography degree from Kutztown University and prior experience as a Staff Assistant for the County Agricultural Land Preservation Board, as well as experience in the business world. Jackie B. Isamoyer-Rollman - Financial Officer
Jackie joined our staff in September 2006. Prior to coming to the Conservancy, Jackie was the Controller for The Reading Public Museum for nearly 11 years. During her time at The Reading Public Museum, she maintained the financial controls and records of the Museum’s revenue and expenditures including cash receipts and disbursements, payroll and related tax reports, special events and fundraisers. As part of her duties at the Conservancy, Jackie will be responsible for performing all accounting functions as well as maintaining the Conservancy’s financial controls and records. Adam Keller - Conservation Specialist
Adam joined the BCC staff in September 2002. He possesses extensive real estate transaction knowledge from a lengthy career at PPL Electric Utilities Corporation. Adam’s primary responsibility at the Conservancy is managing our land protection program and related grants. He is also a pilot and enjoys seeing our beautiful Berks County from the air! Lawrence E. Lloyd - Conservation Specialist
Larry joined our staff in June 2002. He had been a BCC volunteer for over ten years and also spends time volunteering for DCNR State Parks and Hawk Mountain Sanctuary. He has over 28 years of experience managing land near his residence in Cumru Township. Larry is responsible for managing all our protected land and conservation easements in Berks County, and facilitates many of our stream and trail projects. Kimberly J. Murphy, CFRE - President
Kim joined the BCC staff in January 2004 and became President in July that same year. Prior to coming to the Conservancy, Kim was Director of Development at Penn State for nearly 12 years. During her time at Penn State she managed the development, alumni and university relations program for both the Berks Campus in Reading and the Lehigh Valley Campus in Fogelsville. While at Penn State, Kim raised over $17 million for the Berks Campus and Berks-Lehigh Valley College added 39 new endowed funds, managed a successful capital campaign raising $4.7 million and has executed a variety of special events and worked with many volunteers. Kim has served on the board of several charitable organizations in the community including: Beacon House, The American Red Cross-Berks County Chapter, and The Girl Scouts - Great Valley Council. Kim does numerous trainings throughout the community and enjoys sharing her experience in development and non-profit administration with others. Kim, her husband Kevin and 12-year old identical twin boys live in a 206 year old stone farm house that they have enjoyed restoring in Jefferson Township, Berks County. Verlin S. Renner, Jr. - Director of Real Estate
Verlin joined the BCC staff in July 2002. He had been a BCC Board member for 12 years and served a term as Board President. Verlin retired from GPU Energy where he spent 35 years managing real estate in Pennsylvania, Maryland and New Jersey. Beyond his personal commitment to the Conservancy’s mission, Verlin has a wealth of experience in all aspects of land management and real estate. His affiliations include the International Right of Way Association and the Pennsylvania Land Title Association. He is also a licensed real estate professional in Pennsylvania. Katherine Z. Seyler - Office Administrator & Membership Coordinator
Kathy joined our staff in July 2002. She previously worked for GPU Energy in a variety of positions, most recently in the Real Estate Department. Kathy has a degree in Business from Lebanon Valley College and is responsible for all administrative duties of the office as well as database and membership management. Tami J. Shimp - Director of Development
Tami joined the BCC staff in February 1997 as Environmental Projects Manager. Prior to that time she worked for the Conservancy as an Environmental Intern. Since that time she has held the positions of Land Protection Specialist, Director of Land & Cultural Resources, Senior Conservation Specialist and currently Director of Development. Tami has a degree in Environmental Resource Management from Pennsylvania State University. Tami, her husband Todd and sons Paul & Charlie live in South Heidelberg Township. Lorri K. Swan - Municipal Outreach Specialist
Lorri joined the BCC staff in November 2007 as Municipal Outreach Coordinator to launch our new Municipal Outreach Program. Lorri, who has more than 27 years of service in municipal government, has held the positions of Director of Business Development and Government Services for ARRO Consulting, Inc; Manager of West Reading Borough and Assistant Manager/Zoning Officer of Wyomissing Borough. Lorri holds a BS degree in Public Administration from Shippensburg University and a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from the Pennsylvania State University.
